🧐Inside the Rich vs. Poor Mind and Life

There is no secret that the rich think differently than everyone else but when you analyze what is going on in those noggins, most of the time they are just concepts and practices the rest of us already know, just deliberately ignore.

97% of the Fortune 500 people in the world have earned their wealth themselves. They didn’t inherit it or let their daddy build the business for them. Let’s stop bashing out at these deserving billionaires in making them feel as if they haven’t worked a day in their life. Just because they are richer than us doesn’t mean they don’t deserve it. Instead, let’s appreciate what they’ve built to make our lives easier and start learning from them.

Jealousy and casting blame will get you nowhere. Especially when it comes to empowering your mind.

How The Rich Think

Time is your most precious asset. It is bizarre that most of us ask for more time when we waste 98% of the day and the funny thing is, we don’t even realize it or care!

If you want to accumulate wealth and finish your day by 10 am not pm, pay immaculate attention to how the rich spend their time. Who are they with, what do they eat and let their mind consume, how do they speak, where do they go and how did their day start and end will provide you more guidance than a Tony Robbins, Ed Mylett and Gary Vee $1k e-course, 2-hour Youtube speech and bootcamp combined.

The rich will pay you a lot to save their time but the majority of us wouldn’t care if you disrupted us at our peak flow state (the time when we work most efficiently in the day wiht no distractions and time flies by the fastest). An average 16-year-old spends 7–8 hours on social media a day, a billionaire’s average screen time is 20 mins per day.

Remember that the same brain you use for social media can be powered by building something for the world. Every time you log on, view content, or compare yourself to someone else, this takes precious time, energy, and mental space away for you to change your life.

The rich also allocate time for themselves. They don’t always want to be bombarded and especially when it comes to meetings, they are a complete waste of time without a plan or goal. Never be afraid to take the time to be with yourself and do nothing. Rest sparks creativity, not constantly doing things that lead to unproductivity and multitasking gone wrong.

The simplest changes result in the biggest gains that most of us neglect.

Style of Thinking

Unless we are neurosurgeons, we don’t know what is going on inside the rich’s powerful minds and what they are thinking. But by simply understanding what the top 1% do on the weekends or before bed, we can gauge how these habits during these random moments lead them to success that continues to build for a lifetime. It all goes back to time and how you spend it.

Instead of checking their phone right before bed to get them riled up and not be able to sleep, they set out a plan on how the next day should go so they aren’t overwhelmed the morning of and end up not getting anything done because a fancy to-do list must be highlighted throughout and put together.

They will also tell you they either read, pray, spend time with family or have a nice, phone-free dinner with someone to help them relax and keep them grounded.

Parties, gambling, the news, and definitely TikTok are out of sight out of mind.

Take Charge

Instead of feeling drained or upset about their current situation they are in, they are constantly in a curious state. They believe learning is a process never a destination. It is much easier to get anything done with a courageous, confident mind than a stubborn, where’s the couch type of attitude. They strive to learn something new every day and be willing to read the most random articles to spark new ideas and be unordinary.

With your thinking also comes emotions. There is no use in worrying. Of course, a little worrying gets you going and act as motivation, but up to a certain extent you have to let it go because it’s wasting your time. 80% of our worries tend to result in the opposite of what we intended. Instead of consuming, blaming and hypothesizing, they get to work, change their life, and love the process, not focused on the destination and the what-ifs. Change your mind, change your life.

How Money Works For the Rich

There is no doubt that the rich have adopted systems of letting their money work for them not against them. They don’t get paid for their manual labor or time, they earn passive, supplemental income when they are sleeping, eating, vacationing, etc.

If you’ve noticed throughout this article, I’ve never mentioned what rich entails. It is up to you to determine what it means, what one would have, or what they are like. Personally, I believe someone is rich if they are free of debt, do what they love, bring value and assistance to the world, not afraid to make mistakes and embarrass themselves, a kind and humble person, and makes over $100k per year.

I rarely associate numbers to the term but since we are getting technical, I believe $100k per year is a good benchmark to strive for since over $75k in income your happiness plateaus since you will be as happy as someone who makes $60m per year. With a net worth of $500k you are able to take a moderate amount of vacations, have a comfortable cash cushion, and hopefully have at least 3–10 income streams to support you. This is the true definition of rich. Owning a Lambo and Gucci bag means nothing if everyone hates you.

If you are paid for your time you will work until you die.

The rich are out of the box thinkers and follow basic principles that are hard to keep but easy to maintain.

Do you really think it’s hard to go to bed not looking at your phone 30 mins before or scheduling your days around the most productive hours of the day instead of a 9–5 workday trying to fill in all the hours you can with work? These simple tools mean nothing to you now but over time, they yield incredible results.

Let’s look into the key steps they follow throughout their lives to continually outperform:

Rich people compound their money by investing — poor people only think about working for money through 1 income source.

Rich people spend their money to save time and want to grow their character — poor people don’t value their time and personality

Rich people look to wiser people for advice — poor people listen to the rich quick schemes, easy money advice, and everyone else who pretends they know everything

Rich people live below their budget — poor people make impulsive buys to impress others and go bankrupt quicker.

Rich people educate themselves about investing and focus on the future — poor people ruin their minds through entertainment, luxury goods, and hot gadgets.

Rich people plan their expenses — poor people spend on a whim.

Rich people focus on improving their life and getting better — poor people stay comfortable and ask for too much help.

Rich people understand wealth is built over time — poor people want a quick money fix to go broke.

Rich people don’t care about their status- poor people do something for the title, appraisal, or cute Insta pic

It’s easy to assume the rich are those who show off their luxuries, spend their time vacationing, and don’t spend a dime on relationships. They sure have the money to do so but when you analyze and study the habits of high performing people and those who get what they want out of life, it is the complete opposite of what you see in the media or through the assumptions the poor cast simply because they are jealous.

The rich can purchase and do whatever they want, but the richest people in the world still choose to drive Hondas and wear u neck greasy t-shirts because they have better things to focus on than what the poor want. When you start making enough and get what you need or want, you will look and live basic but have a brilliant mind no one can take away from you. The poor assume once you hit the ‘rich status’ retirement is the next stop. A true filthy rich billionaire who loves what they do more than anything will continue to make the world a better place even at 98 years old.

The rich got to where they want to be through deliberate practice, careful saving, dedicating thousands of hours to learning from people they admire, and putting in hard work behind the scenes, only trying to impress themselves, no one else.

As we are continuously stuck at home and might have a little extra time on our hands, we can all become the people we admire and dream of becoming. The biggest barrier you face is yourself. You will realize how hard the rich worked to get to where you want to be once you try. Look up to them as a mentor never an enemy.
