What we consume, we become.
Information and sensory overload are not only overwhelming and draining, they can become barriers to understanding things clearly.
Moderation is key in everything. From exercise to food, working to sleeping, too much of anything can get dangerous.
Real exploration and imagination start when you aren’t constantly inputting something into your brain and instead appreciate the moments of doing nothing.
With an extra 10 minutes to spare, instead of trying to clear your inbox, check your calendar, finish that podcast, refresh your feed, reach that new high score on a game, refresh your mind by being self-aware, present, not occupied, and mindful instead. It will do you more good in the long run.
Let’s bring back boredom for real creativity. We shouldn’t have to fill up every empty gap in our calendar or feel the need to occupy our minds with something whenever we get bored.
Be open to soft fascination and be mindful what you consume to think clearer, feel better, appreciate the present, and really fix what’s not working.
