🤑The Myth About Making Money

Each job, profession, career path, position you secure, it will most likely always involve a paycheck of some sort or a reward system if you get lucky as an intern.

We all love free merch.

We hear on the internet how easy it is to open a small business, start a store on Shopify which is booming along with a few other companies that have never seen booming sales let alone during the pandemic and to become a social media influencer it takes no work, just a few posts, traction and you are on your way to Dixie.

Putting any content out there can make you a few bucks and that will usually persuade people but it shouldn’t be the driving factor and won’t be for long.

Why?

Becuase you aren’t part of it anymore.

As Gary Vee puts it, “don’t worry about putting 110% effort into it, just put anything out there. Stop caring start doing.”

I get his point to not be afraid of the world, put your own unique spin on your work, and don’t fuss on waiting.

But if it isn’t done with any intention or quality backed up behind it, might as well not put it out there.

We all want to get rich quick so we can become wealthy.

But then what?

Most of us don’t know how to spend it and the more you have, the more risks and failures there is.

It can be frustrating to see David Dobrick and teenage gurus make 100k per month.

It might look glamorous but there are several reasons why you shouldn’t strive to be them.

It is a very specific niche that is pretty much already taken.

We are late to the game and if you want to do what they are doing, might as well copy them because they have it set in stone.

Also, we don’t know if their “activities” as we like to call them are temporary.

How is vlogging going to continue once you have kids or become older?

Not very stable if you ask me.

Not realistic as well.

How long can you be buying your friends’ free cars?

Advertisers will get sick of you eventually.

YouTube just like countless other FANG/NASDAQ tech unicorns always get scrutinized.

We don’t even understand why the monopolies: Google, Microsoft, and Amazon were in front of Congress last month.

What if you established a big following on one of these platforms crashes tomorrow or gets hijacked by China?

Better to have a backup in a reputable, reliable job then go all out on 1 trend.

It can seem like there are ways to make money out of everything.

From selling dirt and calling it gold from Russia to getting your real estate license for free and flipping houses by age 18.

Do what excites but remember, pushing yourself up to standards and what other people end up doing, doesn’t mean its right for you.

Everyone likes money and yes it is for everyone, but what generates that money will be a friend-enemy if you don’t put thought into it.

Why are there only a few channels that we watch over and over again or products that we can’t get enough of?

No matter how many competitors are out there, we are habitual creatures and we like consistently.

It is very hard to change someone’s perspective and opinion on a product if they are already hooked on it.

If you know there are bloggers out there writing about the value (hint hint), I wouldn’t necessarily go for it because it can make you even more disappointed.

It’s a harder niche that’s already broken into with a setup structure with people dominating it.

As a teenager, it can especially feel intimidating when someone asks me, what’s my side hustle or job after school, expecting that school isn’t already time-consuming.

You don’t need an excuse or reason to please everyone all the time.

Taking school seriously is your priority and I understand you want to make quick cash, but if it is impacting your studies and most importantly, happiness, then venture out and do something else or nothing.

Making money isn’t as easy as it is portrayed.

Everything seems to be taken these days and we can all relate.

We want to grab every opportunity, preferably paid, and be a part of it just for the monetary gain, no drive to pleasure ourselves which hurts in the long run.

But not every job can be joyful at all times either. I

n order to find a commonality, you must evaluate the pros and cons.

But when it comes to having something get you out of bed ready to start the day, nothing beats that, including a paycheck or a bonus.

It can be called the Goldilocks game.

The world of employment is seen as a system.

They can keep you on the treadmill until your services are not needed anymore.

Don’t take it personally.

To find fulfillment and some cash on the side, you must identify:
Talent: What you are good at
The Market: Is there a need for YOU
Passion + Drive: Why are you the best for this job, not the other 100s of other applicants

Making sure you can fill a gap, be unique, add passion and enthusiasm is hard work but it doesn’t take a lot of effort if you are yourself.

We don’t like to be cheezy here, but it’s true.

There is no one that has the same experiences and drives that you can possess.

Being rich online is rare, that’s why you only see a few repeated ads with a guy in front of a Lamborghini and gold watch because it is a rip-off and scam (also known as a green screen/prop).

If it was easy, no one would have a problem and struggle.

As Hollywood screenwriting guru Robert McKee says: “…what attracts human attention is change. …if the temperature around you changes, if the phone rings — that gets your attention. The way in which a story begins is a starting event that creates a moment of change.”

Doing something else that you enjoy will most likely make you money without even realizing it because as we said, everything can make money, right?

Don’t force yourself to make a certain income because you will go crazy.

Set your internal intentions to be satisfied and fulfilled first, the money will come after.
