🤼‍♀️Our Love/Hate Relationship With Money

There is no doubt we all think, breathe it, smell it, and of course, love it, more than we should.

But the reason why is through our misconceptions that we continue to disregard as false claims and instead believe are true since social media and our economy portray it as rewards, rather than an opportunity for a lifelong investment to better yourself.

The more money you have, the more you can purchase.

That is a fact.

But it certainly doesn’t mean you are smarter with using it, better at allocating it, or it will grow if you have more.

All it means is that you have a lot to spend now and you have the easy choice to spend it on things that will make others happy through showing off or stashing it away and investing it for greater potential in your life.

PS: Go with option B.

Many of us choose temporary happiness so we want to spend things now!

That line must be from a movie.

At BNF, we get some bizarre emails so go ahead, email us what movie this line is from.

Anyway,

Simple as this, the value of money is well, valuable.

It gives you the power to show off, exaggerate your spending, and what you deemed to work hard and put your skills to use for in that value.

Money helps the world prosper but as third world countries attempt to become more stable, grow their GDP, and limit debt, the system of income disparity is trickling in and 1st world countries such as the United States are becoming more separated not united these days.

The rich are getting richer and the poorer are getting poorer.

Money makes us feel good and we always want more of everything.

That’s what the majority of Americans who’ve never experienced saving or appreciating money believe it to be becuase financial literacy is the least of their concerns.

Those who have no education on where their money should really be invested or go to, believe the more you have, the more friends, happiness will come, and troubles will go away.

It’s very hard to break this habit and way of thinking because it has been drilled in our brains since we watched the Egyptians trade gold back in middle school history class and our parents tell us that more money, better meatloaf for dinner.

We don’t need to go over this debate,

Does success bring happiness because by now you all know that it is always the reverse, test it out.

If you do something you love, you will want to do it for free regardless of anything and continue to do it because you want to, not forced to.

Now that is financial freedom right there.

If you can achieve that, life will just become much easier.

But of course, life is hard and designed that way by us, not anyone else, so we choose to follow the most common path and not branch out for a bigger reward at the end.

But making money should never be made through your physical exertion, usually in the form of paycheck to paycheck.

If you can be rewarded for your skills and intelligence, not in the form of time, every time you clock in and out, you will generate passive income, be able to enjoy your life while getting paid, and have a much more still and relaxed existence.

Why Money Is Evil:
1) Feeling guilty/regret

2) Wasted time

3) Wasted energy on others

4) Nothing for themselves

Believe it or not, but the real reason why we buy things tends to be for other people.

We only need basic things in life to survive.

The rest of it can be aruged to make us happy through experiences but the majority to make others jealous and like you better.

If you worry about what others think and want to be popular becuase of your money, not your self-worth, you are in trouble.

For all, you non-religious folks out there, listen up.

Becuase you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean you cannot listen to them.

If you don’t want to listen to someone it typically means your argument or stance is so weak that if you do hear them, they will persuade you in an instant.

According to Proverbs 13:11: Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. Proverbs 22:16 Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.

What Not To Always Do With Money:
Before giving it away or donate, make sure you can identify:
1) Where it is actually going

2) Value-added

3) People supported

4) Charity benefit

5) Lasting impact

6) Boost for you in a form of tax benefits, lower costs on issuance, etc. as well

Don’t spend a lot in 1 sitting.

By a lot, we mean more than you SHOULD in a given day.

Always bring cash and try to forget your credit card.

You spend less with cash because you can tangibly see it.

With a card, it goes in and out of your checking and with a debit card, it is worse.

There are no refunds or checking up on it at the end of the month.

The easiest plan is usually the worst.

Make Sure It Has Positive Impact, Not Negative, especially with your health

You can give people gifts, but only for those you truly love.

Don’t be extravagant either.

Simpler the better, smaller = bigger.

No matter what we tell, ask, say, read, or write about money, we will always listen best to, “What our momma told us.”

Wow, we are on a roll today with the lyrics.

We are stubborn creatures and must understand that financial literacy is the best form of monetary incentive you can give yourself.

Financial Literacy Perks:
1) You will generate more in the long run

2) Understand what to invest in for high returns in your portfolio

3) Live freely not drowning in opportunity cost when you know you could be working at McDonald’s for your manual labor instead of a job that pays you passively when you taking care of your family and growing outside of work

4) Able to borrow more things with a better credit score, pay off your student debt, car loans

5) Could be healthier and probably happier.

It doesn’t matter the amount, you will be on more stable ground and secure when you have gotten rid of all your debt, know how to plan for retirement, get life, car, health insurance, and be on the right track to achieving your own goals.

As with a relationship, money has a love/hate relationship but it is only that way becuase we choose to.

Money isn’t important and NOT a factor to being happy.

You don’t need to pass a certain threshold to have it.

Billionaires out there… Cough cough Lori Loughlin, Lady Gaga, Trump to name a few still have problems, more controversy, and have to deal with bigger issues because they had too much and didn’t spend it right.

You could be the richest guy in the world but if you don’t know how to spend it right, might as well live penniless becuase you will appreciate it more and want to work hard for it not to stay comforatble all your life spending it to get attention.

Too much of anything isn’t good, especially pizza before bed.

The money will make you happier once you have a comfortable and deep understanding of how it works, how you can grow it, and how you can live your life not surviving it forever.
