🥉Why You Should Strive To Be Average

Do you know where our dreams come from?

Other people determine them.

How does that happen?

What if I don’t talk to anyone…

First off, start doing that and don’t make excuses.

That’s why we have Zoom.

So back to why our dreams are already programmed by others.

Becuase what you want, someone already has.

Our aspirations are other people’s jobs and careers already set in stone.

We admire them and drool over their lives becuase we don’t have them.

Anything we don’t have we want.

Simplistic human behavior and thinking.

But you probably don’t want my writing skills.

Once you do achieve whatever you deemed to be wonderful, you will be more than disappointed but distraught because of external factors such as fame, money, and fake friendships that lead you more into dealing with more problems you never knew existed.

But of course, that is never the first thing we think of or know occurs with celebrities who live an extravagant life since we only see 1 side of the story.

We aren’t becoming detectives but we need to dissect your wrong thinking.

It is hard for us to snap into reality and examine the flaws of people we want to become, things we want, places we wish to travel to because we have this assumption that what we see advertised or published, is the real world.

Unless we actually experience it ourselves, being the greatest pop star, richest person, is not the greatest luxury.

In fact, its the worst.

What?!?!

I cannot attest to being a mega superstar but I can be proud of how hard my family has worked and where we are today.

We live in a predominately wealthy neighborhood.

One of the safest and upper-class neighborhoods in the country.

We didn’t inherent centuries of wealth or had past presidents in the family as most families do here.

We live about 40 minutes away from the city with CEOs and legacies residing here.

Another fun fact is that the unhappiest people I know are here.

Well… technically since its quarantine, they are in their second or third homes.

If you find a town that is dead silent during these times, that reveals their status.

This town is terrific.

It has a great burrito place, country clubs, and sell donuts with vanilla cream

What else could you ask for?

This is impossible to get through our brains but wealth does not equate to happiness and the wealthiest have understood that well.

Did you know that most of the Kennedy family lived a tragic life?

John was shot, Jacquie drowned and most of the children either committed suicide or died in crashes.

I didn’t even know all of those options existed.

For a long time back in middle school, I was spoiled and believe I was the smartest chick because I tried to hand in my assignments the earliest on time.

I dressed like I was from Silicon Valley and wasn’t selfish in any typical way, I just exaggerated my intelligent speediness.

Looking back I don’t know if I wanted to act like a computer or what was going on, but I know I was focused on nonsense as we still are these days.

Until a few years later I discovered that I was doing better with assignments that were done under the mentality of knowing the importance of quality, not quantity.

This mindset shift put me in a better headspace because I stopped comparing, making everything a race, and didn’t pay attention to others.

I thought everything in life had its own timing and even to go to college, gap years weren’t allowed, getting married needed to be a certain age, and being able to start a startup needed to be by age 40 when the amount of experience I acquired would be decent.

After I stopped setting arbitrary time frames with my life and not letting others’ schedules dictate mine, I’ve become comfortable with not being first, not being perfect, and simply being average.

I really don’t want to be above average.

Why would you want to be the best anyway?

There would be way too much pressure to keep that status and I guarantee you, no one will appreciate or like you as much as if you laid it low.

If you can resonate with others on a basic level, conversations will be more free-flowing, work will be less stressful and your life will be better than the best.

Don’t try too hard becuase that gets you in the fake zone.

Takling 100 projects for your resume won’t serve you any good.

I thought I could be the ping pong team leader, dog walker, massage therapist for my grandma, and tennis coach all at the same time while being a lonely 7th grader.

It made me more depressed that I couldn’t handle 1 thing well.

It was all for the interview or to show off, not for myself.

You only have you to take care of and impressing yourself is your first priority.

I needed to evaluate what would bring the most value because if I enjoy something the most and put my energy into it, that will be most beneficial for me than handling tasks I never knew I signed up for.

There is truly no point in faking it till you make it.

Don’t become someone you will not because you will waste all your life trying to find out who you are and have to go the reverse track.

Why should boring be bad?

We are all bored in our lives.

Don’t burn yourself out taking a high road all the time.

Tell yourself when it’s ready not others.

It is much easier to take it slow now than back it up later with more obligations.
